2005 INSURANCE MARKETPLACE

Rough Notes, Dec 2004 by France, Larry G

Welcome to the 42nd edition of The Insurance Marketplace - the premier directory of Excess & Surplus, Specialty Lines and Insurance Industry Services. The 2005 edition contains more than 665 coverages, programs, and industry service categories.

New listings in this edition include Natural Gas Utilities; Educational Institute Package; Luxury Homes, Condominiums, and Townhomes in excess of $500,000; Laser Hair Removal; Airport Property and Aviation Related Risks; and Homebuilders Coverage. Also, Bars and Nightclubs have been separated from prior editions since they differ from one another in exposure. The Insurance Marketplace is the only directory that provides a general description of each category, to help you more accurately insure risks.

Each firm listed in the 665-plus categories can be found in the Company Home Office Directory near the front of The Insurance Marketplace. This list provides contact information, type of operation, type of product, and area of operation. There are also five regional sections for the United States and one each for Canada and International.

In coverage/service sections, a star (*) by the provider's name in the alphabetical listing indicates that the company is a program administrator, underwriting manager or principal market for that coverage. It does not indicate an endorsement of the listee.

If a company is nonadmitted in your state, refer to your regional section that starts opposite page 28. You will find a nearby Excess & Surplus Lines Broker or Lloyd's Qualified Representative listed alphabetically by state, then by city. If you cannot find the provider you need, we suggest you contact the closest regional advertiser or listee. Or, we will be happy to assist through our free MARKETPLACE 800 hotline (1-800-428-4284).

Check THE INSURANCE MARKETPLACE SPECIALTY LINES BULLETIN BOARD at www.roughnotes.com for updates.

The Insurance Marketplace is the most widely utilized directory for locating a provider. The Web site - www insurancemarketplace.com - is free to use with no log-in procedures, no password, no fee. Just go to the Web site, agree to the privacy agreement, select your coverage and state/province. You can click on the provider's Web site and be sent directly to the firm's home page.

As the industry changes, new exposures arise and markets disappear, The Insurance Marketplace directory becomes your best tool to compete in today's environment.
