Sick of slick political ads?

NEA Today, Oct 1998

Here's a resource that can help you find out which candidates really measure up for education.

Okay. You're ready to cast a vote for education this November. But who do you vote for? Almost every candidate running this fall for Congress, after all, is running ads proclaiming eternal, heart-felt support for-quality schools.

How can you tell who's really for kids and who's just kidding? How can you figure out which candidates really measure up for education?

NEA legislative analysts have been working hard to assemble the information you need to make an informed decision. You can access that information directly by checking the World Wide Web at www.nea.org/lac/voterec.

This special Web area makes it easy to see how members of Congress measure up on four key issue areas that really impact how well schools work and students learn.

The four issue categories: protecting children's health and safety, preparing students for America's jobs of the future, strengthening public education, and respecting the rights of the men and women who work in education.

If you don't have Web access, check your NEA local or state affiliate for information on which candidates for Congress truly measure up.
