Hoping to boost test scores this spring? Take your students for a walk outside. A researcher from the Virginia Institute for Psychiatric and Behavioral Genetics recently reported that exposure to sunshine in the springtime is related to better memory and other cognitive functions. The effect may have something to do with relief from winter weather, because the same link isn't found during sunny days in the summer or fall.

So, put down the books and pull on those walking boots!
