Full range of solid-model-based software products simulates an NC machine or an entire manufacturing process. Offered by Sirius Systems, (San Jose, CA), and called the Virtual Manufacturing Suite, it covers four aspects of manufacturing:
*Verifying the material removal process *Animating machine operation to detect collisions *Simulating CNC controllers *Analyzing NC toolpaths
These programs provide information that can lead to advanced error detection, waste elimination, and cost cutting. The software runs on Windows 95 and NT and SGI/IRIX and IBM/AIX Unix platforms. Circle 337.
