Getting the gunk out
Manufacturing Engineering, Jul 1998
Cleaning the cleaning solution is critical in parts washing. One way to do it is with a centrifugal bath purification system, such as that offered by Sanborn Technologies (Medway, MA). Designed to remove solids and free oil from aqueous bath solutions, the model T14-3AQ's main system element is a stainless steel, three-phase centrifuge. The system does not deplete bath chemistry during recycling. It removes a dry solids cake and a separate free oil stream.
The complete system includes a self-priming feed pump, threephase cetrifuge, and an oil reservoir. It operates automatically and needs minimal attention to maintan a clean bath.
The portable unit, which operates automatically, can wash tanks of about 1000 gal (3800 L). For more information, Circle 327.
