Toyoda Machinery (Arlington Heights, IL) and Mitsui Seiki USA Inc. (Franklin Lakes, NJ) have announced a global partnership that aims to leverage close corporate relationships to improve the companies' competitive position in the machine tool market. Joining efforts in procurement and production in Japan, will reduce costs and improve efficiencies, the companies said in a statement, and will take advantage of close ties between the companies' Japanese corporate parents, Toyota Motor Corp., a major shareholder in Toyoda Machine Works and Mitsui & Co.
There will be no significant changes in the companies' North American operations.
