Simulation Alliance

Manufacturing Engineering, Mar 2005

CNC simulation software developer CGTech (Irvine, CA) recently was selected as a strategic alliance partner of the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM, Latrobe, PA).

Under the agreement, CGTech will work with the NCDMM to develop and deliver state-of-the-art manufacturing solutions for more cost-effective and timely manufacturing of precision machined components. The alliance calls for CGTech to aid the center by incorporating into its efforts CGTech's Vericut NC simulation and verification software's capabilities to provide new methods of NC program verification and optimization.

The NCDMM has been working to test and develop related manufacturing and machining processes since 2003, and according to Mark Huston, NCDMM executive director, the alliance will help the companies improve their solutions to support Department of Defense (DoD) customers. The NCDMM has established a group of key alliance partners, each with a significant manufacturing technology expertise directly applied to problems associated with advanced material machining. The center's goal is to provide defense organizations and contractors with methods of producing components faster, at lower costs, and of the highest quality. For more information, see the NCDMM website at www.ncdmm.org.
