Interlaken Technology Corp. (Chaskat, MN) is building a new hydroforming and warm-forming development and prototyping facility. Included will be a 2000-ton (8.9-kN) hydroforming system, a hot-oil, warm-forming system, and a hot-gas, warm-forming system.

China Array Plastics (Pittsfield, MA) has a new injection-molding facility in the Zhuankou Industrial Park (Wuhan, China). The company specializes in custom molding high-performance thermoplastics such as polysulfone (PSU), polyetherimide (PEI), and polyetheretherketone (PEEK).

Mitsui Seiki USA Inc. (Franklin Lakes, NJ ) has expanded its machine tool manufacturing facility in Saitama, Japan. The new building includes more than 17,000 ft^sup 2^ (1579 m^sup 2^) and will produce the "Vertex" line of vertical machining centers and standard machines. The company plans to add two additional bays totaling 50,000 ft^sup 2^ (4645 m^sup 2^).

GW Plastics has tripled the size of its Chinese manufacturing plant. The current expansion increases the facility's size to more than 40,000 ft^sup 2^ (3716 m^sup 2^).

Algor Inc. (Pittsburgh), a provider of design, analysis, and simulation software, announced the opening of a new office in Beijing, China. The company's finite-element-analysis software features a single- user interface, Fempro, which provides direct CAD/CAE data exchange and links to most CAD solid modelers.

FKI Logistex (Cincinnati) has opened a multimillion-dollar Technology & Education Center. The 31,000 ft^sup 2^ (2880 m^sup 2^) training and demonstration center offers the company's customers access to fully functional, automated sorting, conveying, and order-fulfillment systems for solutions demonstrations, proof-of-concept testing, and operator training.

Laser Mechanisms Inc. (Farmington Hills, MI) has established a partnership with Scansonic GmbH to distribute and service its seam-tracking, laser welding, and brazing systems to the North American market. Scansonic makes processing heads for automated laser welding and brazing of thin sheetmetal.
