Why did you choose Liberty Mutual?

After being an intern at Liberty through INROADS, I learned about the Fellowship in Finance and Accounting Development Program (FIFA) and I thought it was a great opportunity. Through this program, I was able to rotate through three different departments: (Liberty International-Financial Reporting, Commercial Markets-Reinsurance and Personal Markets-Expense Team). The program not only helped me enhance my finance and accounting skills but it also gave me a lot of exposure to senior management; allowing me to create a great network.

What excites you most about working In the insurance industry?

I feel a great sense of pride knowing that I am working for a company that provides people with security and with the opportunity to work on projects with genuine responsibility.

How does your position Impact Liberty Mutual's global strategies?

My current role in Liberty's International department revolves around financial controls. My main focus is to work with all of Liberty's International operations to ensure that there are efficient controls in place to help minimize the impact of potential risks.

What advice do you have for graduating seniors and interns who will enter the workplace?

My advice to graduating seniors and any students working as interns is, regardless of the position, to always give your best at work. Get exposure to a lot of different projects. By learning different things, you grow your skills and become a more marketable employee. You should volunteer to help out co-workers which exposes you to more areas of the organization and all the career opportunities available.
