Madison Paper remains competitive with program of technology renewal
Pulp & Paper, May 1994 by Yeager, Bob
Ultimately, all local control loops will be resident within the DCS, both in the paper mill and groundwood mill. At that time, the mill will have total "single-window control," whereby all paper machine and pulping operations are viewed through the DCS displays and controlled by DCS controllers.
"At that point," says Pineo, "DCS operators will have full visibility of operations through the DCS display, and the power to make corrective action as well. Automation will be totally and efficiently integrated throughout the mill."
