Inland to purchase Gaylord mill

Inland Paperboard and Packaging Inc. said a management team has agreed to purchase the assets of Mid-America Packaging and a kraft paper mill in Pine Bluff, Ark., formerly run by Gaylord Container Corp. The Mid-America transaction should close by the end of 2002, said Inland Paperboard. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The management-led buyout includes two multiwall bag plants in Twinsburg, Ohio, and Pine Bluff, Ark., and the kraft paper mill in Pine Bluff.
