* Wausay Paper has restarted the former Potlach Corp. uncoated free-sheet paper mill in Brainerd, Minn., according to local news reports. After Potlatch closed the 170,000-tpy capacity facility in 2002 Paper Co, opened, then closed the mill a year later. Wausau Paper bought the facility for $9.6 million last October.

* Consolidated completed the largest single capital project of the year at its Fort Frances, Ont., mill-replacing an electrical component on the winder of the No. 7 paper machine that in recent years had caused several unscheduled shuts. The C$750,000 project was completed during three days scheduled maintenance.
