Book review--Walker's Manual of Unlisted Stocks--1996 edition

Corporate Growth Report Weekly, Jul 22, 1996

We came across a new publication that is a good research tool for anyone trying to find financial data on "public" companies that "prefer to operate their business as a privately as possible."

This manual is unique in that it presents descriptive and financial information on 500 companies whose stock rarely trades, but yet are publicly held. The companies are quoted on the pink sheets and the electronic bulletin board. The Walker's Manual excludes penny stocks and bankrupt companies.

The manual presents the last four year's financial statements, both balance sheet and operating statements plus key information and performance ratios. Most companies listed are in the $5 million to $50 million size range. However, they also include some large companies such as: Kohler, Rand-McNally, Steelcase, King Collen Grocery, and R.L. Polk & Company. Price is $75, which comes out to 15c per company. That is a cheap price for anyone to pay who's in the fields of business valuations, investment banking and corporate finance. To order call Walker's at: 800932-2922. Please mention our name.
