Descendant of Huldah, River Jordan, 26 AD

Theology Today, Oct 2000 by Scofield, Robin

he's a virgin this is his baptism

he gave me a white rose out of his head startled as he breaks out of the water looking around but not at me

the wild one right beside him the one

who holds you down till you almost drown he tries so hard to get God inside you some call Messiah, some say not

I think they are brothers, some say cousins he heard a strange song I almost caught it they look through the eyes of eagle and dove rose in the light the river flowed on

Robin Scofield's poetry has appeared in THEOLOGY TODAY, Western Humanities Review, Analecta, The Texas Observer, and other publications.
