T1 -73 with Graph Explorer Software
This month's spotlight is on the TI-73 Graphing Calculator from Texas Instruments. It's the first electronically upgradable calculator to keep up with technology advances and allow it to be customized to meet curricular needs in math and science.
An I/O port lets the TI-73 connect to a computer or ViewScreen LCD panel to project the screen for group use. TI-Graph Link transfers files between calculator and computer. Middle school math and science students can create pie/bar graphs, pictographs, histograms, stacked fractions and data analysis and then print graphs and solutions.
Upgrades for the calculator can be downloaded from the TI website which makes it more economical to upgrade the calculator with new features. Additional graph functions can be added from other companies. Compatible software for the calculator is now available from Sunburst Communications, 800-338-3457.
Visit www.ti.com for a dozen lessons that use the TI-73 as a teaching tool for reinforcing math concepts or call distributor EAI at 800-272-0272 to place an order. $99.
