Shaky about teaching math?

You'll find that the Saxon K-4 Math Program will help put you on firm ground. This program provides a solid foundation in both the language and the basic concepts of math. There are terrific gradelevel kits with everything you need to insure success for your kids. The teachers manuals are comprehensive and easy to use, there are worksheets, manipulatives (vary from grade to grade), and an assessment binder, a CD-ROM of teacher resource materials and plastic crates for storage.

There are between 135 and 140 lessons on each grade level. Depending on the number of students in your class, Saxon recommends varying lengths of time for use of the kit (some are recommended to be used for two years if there's a low pupil-teacher ratio). There are lots of supplemental materials available if you'd feel more comfortable having them, so pricing will vary.

Saxon has the research results to back up the gains children have achieved, so ask about them.

Actually, the best thing to do is to write for a catalog from Saxon, and be prepared to be impressed. We were.
