Phonics Firefly

Teaching Pre K-8, May 2001

Here's a phonics pal sure to light up your students' language arts skills. Phonics Firefly, from Kidology, a division of Educational Insights, is a hand-held, battery-- operated device to help students learn the alphabet, letter sounds and more than 500 three-letter words.

The talking firefly offers seven game modes and light-up letters to guide students. Using digital Texas Instruments voice technology with speaker-volume control, students hear the names and sounds the letters make. It even has an automatic shut-off to preserve batteries.
