Here is an excellent resource for your math class with a great connection to the family. Figure This! contains more than 40 math problem solving activities that will challenge your students grades 4-8 and will provide an activity for parents to do with their children at home.

Each problem solving activity has a series of hints to help students solve each real-life math situation, links for books and web resources to learn more about the related concept and suggestions for the teacher or parent. There is even a Family Corner with downloadable brochures on Families and Homework, Families and Math, Families and School, Families and Support and other resources.
