Other Side, The

Teaching Pre K-8, Aug/Sep 2001

The Other Side by Jacqueline Woodson (Putnam, 2001) is a beautifully written story of two young girls who are separated by a fence and the racial tensions of the time. This book holds tremendous potential for open discussion with children about a time when our nation was divided along racial lines.
