Rockin' readers...
Teaching Pre K-8, Aug/Sep 2001 by Broderick, Patricia, Raymond, Allen
from Creative Teaching Press. There's a new reading series from Creative Teaching Press and you're just going to love it. This series is for beginning readers and is authored by John Archambault and David Plummer.
The series of 12 books has an accompanying CD or cassette containing a narrated and a musical version of the lyrics in each book. Each book has a different theme, such as money, time, colors, self-esteem and rhyme. Children learn to recognize words and meanings as they read along while listening to the musical or narrated version of each book. The 6 x 9, 16-page books contain a mix of photographs and artwork, which lends a stunning effect. The books are $2.99 each, with the CD at $13.98. Classroom packs of 72 books (six of each title) are $229.00. Add slh if you order directly from the company. There are other variations in packaging, so call Creative Teaching Press, 714-895-5047 for more information on "Rockin' Readers" and other great products. See also www.creativeteach ing.com and www.youngheartmusic. com These materials can also be found at your local school supply store, too.
