(JOHN F. BLAIR, $22.95)
Ensworth Harding, the 18-year-old son of a wealthy entrepreneur, lives a life of luxury until his father gives him an ultimatum and a mission. H e dumps Ensworth on a Coastal Georgia back road with a letter he's to deliver to a Savannah law firm, threatening disinheritance if he hears from him before the task is done.
Soon young Ensworth stumbles across Lord Baltimore, the title character who serves as his mentor and guide. The two witness a crime involving a corrupt sheriff who not only wants their hides but also the life of the escaped prisoner who's joined them.
British-born Stephen Doster, who grew up on St. Simons Island, Georgia, and lives in Nashville, tells this modern odyssey of a quest for honor.
