Fall is here, and our schedules with school, work, and activities are in full swing. You need a house that can accommodate everything a busy family throws at it. Our Northridge plan meets these needs.

The garage is conveniently located at the front of the home, providing easy access. Connecting the garage to the house is a hall that features an ample mudroom, generous half bath, and large laundry room. The mudroom is spacious enough to double as a walk-in pantry and a drop-zone for kids' backpacks. You could easily replace the window in the hall with a door that opens to the small front courtyard. Because the courtyard is adjacent to the open kitchen and breakfast room, it would make a beautiful garden that could be viewed from the kitchen window and front porch.

Tucked off the breakfast room and accessed by a pair of French doors, the screened porch is a terrific place for enjoying outdoor meals or just lounging. Adding an outdoor fireplace to take the chill out of crisp fall evenings would convert the porch into a year-round room.

The master bedroom is on the first floor, providing separation and privacy from the kids' rooms upstairs. But with the stairs located right outside the master bedroom's door, you're never too far from the other bedrooms.

Outside, Northridge is detailed with a bracketed overhang to soften the garage facade, large windows to let in plenty of natural light, and a graceful front porch. Above the garage is additional space that could be finished during initial construction or later when you need it. With its own staircase located conveniently inside the garage's interior door, the bonus space would be perfect for an office.
