British Airways was found guilty of sex discrimination in 1998 for forcing female flight attendants to assume ground duties when pregnant. Over 500 flight attendants were forbidden from working on flights during their pregnancies, causing a loss of flight allowances. The corporation must now pay out $3.2 million in back pay to the flight attendants.
