Off Our Backs, Mar/Apr 2004 by Albrecht, Sarah Joy
The world is in an uncomfortable position right now. We are in an arduous process of learning how to live together, and togetherness is our only option. The magnitude of required change demands a wealth of understanding and commitment. We are collecting that wealth and building the understanding that enables us to see every struggle as the same struggle. We are globalizing our resistance. The World Social Forum is a sign of our maturity as a revolutionary movement. The March 20th mobilization will be another one. These opportunities for good people to come together and coalesce are crucial to our learning process.
There is no straightforward answer or direct path to the future we seek. We are figuring it out together by trusting in our vision of another possible world, contributing to that vision by all means possible and supporting each others' contributions. The answers are out there, propelling us forward. We're finding them and we're beginning to use them. Through the efforts of every actor for social change everywhere, we can use them more and more, find new answers and progress toward a better tomorrow.
