Wildfire: Igniting the She/Volution

I do not view the publication of each new article and book lamenting (or celebrating) women's inability to combine motherhood with a career or to enjoy the raising of children as any failure of feminism. I view these only as additional evidence that we continue to live, as women, in a male supremacist world, a world still largely controlled and ruled by the agendas, sensibilities and expectations of men, men interested in preserving the status quo which ensures the perpetuation of male privilege. My deepest hope is that feminist women will not settle for less than revolution, will not return to the traditions and lifestyles of pre-feminist times, but will join with me and mothers like me in the revolution we have been engaged in, now for decades.
