PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE: A New Look For Mercer Business

Mercer Business, Feb 01, 2003 by Frank-White, Cathy

With the New Year, comes a new look for the 79-year young Mercer Business Magazine. This month we are pleased to showcase the first edition of the new, easyto-read format.

The redesign, created by the graphic designers of White Eagle Printing Company, is consistent with the magazine's mission to produce a quality product and to exceed customer expectations. As the production and management company of the magazine for over 50 years, White Eagle's quality craftsmanship and high-end printing is readily seen in a broad array of publications, annual reports, brochures and other printed material.

Working in concert with Editor/General Manager Donna Hill Krupa, the changes in type style, layout and graphics were implemented to create a fresh look. "Our intention was to make subtle changes to enhance the overall feel of the magazine," said Krupa, "I believe we've accomplished that, and more."

The changes are a product of the magazine's success - keeping with our goals of building lasting relationships with our customers and providing the highest quality magazine of this type in the country. In fact, in the past two decades, under the leadership of Editor Gene Sayko, Mercer Business has continued to be nationally recognized by the American Chamber of Commerce, with "Awards of Excellence" and "Awards of Merit" for its content and design.

Readers will find that the bold, color headlines and flowing graphics enrich the overall presentation of the magazine. Graphic elements were added to highlight the feature articles and compliment the monthly columns. We anticipate that the new look will be a benefit for advertisers in the publication as it captures even more attention from the Mercer region's 8,000 business executives and corporate decision makers.

The Greater Mercer County Chamber or Commerce Magazine Committee is enthusiastic about the new look and expressed their accolades to White Eagle for their innovative concepts. Pat McCormick, chairman of the committee acknowledged that, "the new look will have a positive impact on the future of the already well-respected Mercer Business. We think the changes reflect a progressive and dynamic view that has always been the hallmark of our chamber publication. We want to use new technology to the fullest and stay ahead of the curve in every respect - for our readers and our advertisers. The new look unveiled in this issue is another example of our commitment to that philosophy."

Mercer Business Magazine is one of the oldest, continually published chamber publications in the country. We're proud of its long history and we are confident of its continued success.
