Thomas Karcz named GM of Ryerson at KC

Thomas A. Karcz has been named general manager of the Kansas City (MO) service center of Joseph T. Ryerson & Son, Inc., a nationwide distributor of metals and industrial plastics.
Karcz joined Ryerson's Chicago service center in 1977 and held a series of inside and outside sales assignments prior to being named an inside sales manager, first at Chicago and later for Ryerson's Indianapolis plant. In 1989 he moved to Ryerson Coil Processing as general manager of the Keelor Steel plant in Marshalltown, Iowa. Four years later he became general manager of Ryerson's Plastics Division and has been helping company operations across the country to market industrial plastic products.
A native of the Chicago area, Karcz is a graduate of Northern Illinois University and has an MBA from Butler University. He and his wife Julianne are moving to the Kansas City area with their three children.
The Ryerson plant at 101 East Ninth Avenue in North Kansas City, (MO) is part of the nation's largest industrial service center organization. The company supplies all types of carbon, alloy and stainless steel, aluminum, nickel alloys, copper, brass and industrial plastics from facilities in 29 cities coast to coast. Ryerson is a wholly owned subsidiary of Inland Steel Industries, Inc.
