Commercial Aircraft Products Moves into new Facility

Commercial Aircraft Products, Inc., Wichita, Kansas, has recently moved into a new 24,000 sq.ft. facility and added 6 new pieces of CNC equipment.

The precision component specialist was founded in 1966 by Claude Mann to serve the general aviation industry. The firm was purchased by Bobby and Barbara Nance in 1986. Bobby was president of the firm until his retirement in 1998, at which time Barbara became president.

Starting with wing flap actuators, the firm's offerings grew to include such components as: swing check valves; fuel valves; selector valves; cable tensioners; brake master cylinders; and vacuum selectors.

Commercial offers precision CNC milling and turning, engineering, drafting, technical assistance, fabrication, assembly, prototypes, and custom products. The company is also FAA certified repair station.

General Manager Larry McKean pointed out how a commitment to quality has led to the

company's success. "The combination of quality machined parts and assemblies produced by quality people who deliver orders as promised, leads to satisfied customers," noted McKean a long-time veteran of the aircraft industry.

McKean went on to say the new facility, which offers more space, better lighting and improved temperature control, will allow room for continued growth.

Six new pieces of CNC equipment (four 4-axis Okuma Cadet-Mate vertical machining centers and 2 Okuma Crown big bores) have been installed in the new building.

Other equipment at the plant include: six pieces of CNC turning equipment; two conventional mills; six pieces of conventional turning equipment; grinders; saws; and inspection equipment.
