Grove, Oklahoma: Pride Plating Adds Chromic and Sulfuric Line To Metal Finishing capabilities

Mid-America Commerce & Industry, Jan 01, 2002

Pride Plating Inc., Grove, Oklahoma, has added a large capacity chromic and sulfuric line to its metal finishing equipment.

The company offers a wide range of metal finish processes and services to customers across the country and around the globe.

Three partners, Ron Lay, Larry Lucas and Wes Replople took over the company in 1990 with 11 employees in a 9000-sq.-ft. structure. Now, 12 years and four expansions later, the company operates in a 36,000-sq.-ft. facility with 45 employees working acros three shifts.

Pride Plating offers such diverse processes as: chromic acid anodizing; sulfuric acid anodizing; hard anodizing; chem film; descale and passivation; solid film lubricant; priming; painting; fluoride phosphating; conductivity testing; hardness testing and penetrant inspection ammonium biflouride etch inspection.

The company works with aluminum, stainless and titanium alloys.

"Service is what has made us stand out over the years," stated Larry Lucas, technical representative. "We strive to provide a full range of high-quality services to our customers. Some of the parts we work with go through ten different steps or processes."

Lucas noted that the company's new line can accommodate parts up to 16' in length while its painting operation can handle parts up to 40' in length. This is to keep up with the growing trend in many industries towards larger more complex parts that previously would have been made up of numerous smaller parts.

"We have one large aircraft part that used to be made up of 110 individual parts," Lucas commented. "Our large capacities are set up to handle these parts. This helps our efficiency, turnaround time and keeps our costs lower."

Pride Plating serves a wide range of industries including: all major aircraft (military & commercial); aerospace; defense; packaging; restaurant; food handling equipment and medical equipment.

The firm has received numerous awards from its customers for quality and service. Lucas recalled instances where customers would fly in with parts and wait for them to be finished and fly back with the parts.

The company meets the standards of all the industries it serves.
