Qualico Precision Products Adopts Parent Company Orscheln Name: Duchesne Named Superintendent

Qualico Precision Products LLC, Moberly Missouri, has recently adopted the name of its parent company Orscheln.

This location offers screw machine products, plating and coatings, while the rest of the company produces mechanical, cable and lever control products.

Daryl Duchesne has been named as the company's plant superintendent. Duchesne is a 24-year veteran in the machining business.

"The name change will not affect the way we do business," stated Duchesne. "It will allow our customers to deal with one company."

Another development at Orscheln is the introduction of the Envirozin Genesis Alkaline Zinc Process in the plating operation. This process offers: better plating results; more efficient bath use; uniform finish on long parts; brighter colors and better results on heat-treated parts.

The company also has continued updating with automatic gaging and mistake-proofing its screw machine equipment.

An important announcement includes the first licensing of the Elisha EMC (chromate-free) coating process to a firm in Cleveland, Ohio. Orscheln has been offering the process for three years.

The company now has 35 screw machines (single and multispindle) and various secondary equipment that perform threading, chilling, chucking, tapping, deburring, reaming and milling.

The screw machine operation works with steel, brass, aluminum, copper, stainless steel and plastics up to 1.25" diameter in round, hex, tube and square stock.

Over 20 variations of plating are offered at Orscheln including: passivation of stainless steel; acid wash with light oil coating; zinc phosphating; zinc & clear chromate; zinc & yellow chromate; zinc & olive drab chromate and black chromate.

Its plating lines utilize barrels 36" in length and 16" in diameter.

Coatings offered at Orscheln include dipspin Magni-Coating, Elisha's EMC (Electrolitic Mineral Coat) process and powder coating.
