Business Profile: Maryellen Seward is not new to small business. She ran a successful group family daycare for over 22 years. After retiring from this business, she wanted to start a business in a completely different field, using the experiences she had gained throughout life. After meeting with the Women's Business Center of New York State, she realized that she wanted to focus on healthy solutions for weight reduction. Maryellen knew first-hand the well-being she felt after losing over 100 pounds herself.

Seward's mission is to help men and women create solutions for lifestyle changes. Her services include culinary classes, culinary workshops, culinary planning, shopping, grocery-store selections, exercising, coaching, and a lending library. Seward is currently teaching classes and holding workshops in the Utica area and is pursuing her certification as a Life Coach through Coach Training Alliance.
