Meal-assembly businesses are popping up all over the country. Busy moms, emptynesters, and single people flock to them to finish a month's worth of cooking in one afternoon or evening. Michele Bellso introduced the trend to Syracuse in May 2,006 with her Make & Take Gourmet business.
In August, Bellso booked 400 cooking sessions. While at Make & Take Gourmet, people assemble their meals in freezer-safe containers and bring them home. Each meal contains four to six servings.
Because of the success of her first Make & Take Gourmet location, Bellso is looking to open locations in Baldwinsville and Fayetteville.
