Syracuse University College of Law

* Age: 34

* Do you have ideas to attract and keep the youth in the Syracuse area? job growth is essential to attracting and retaining college-educated professionals, who are statistically more engaged with their communities. We need to create a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment that encourages new, start-up businesses. Also, art-based initiatives that foster a creative community and support the colleges and universities in the region.

* Where do you see the community and yourself in the next 10 years? Working at Syracuse University, I have a greater understanding of the pivotal role and public benefit that universities serve as a partner in our community. I definitely want to expand my role in the community as a mentor and leader. I'm at a place in my career where I can help counsel and motivate those just starting out.

* Who has been the most influential person in your career? My sister, Lisa Carlisto. I've always looked to her for advice when I have a challenging situation at work, professional development decision, or an opportunity for a career change.

* What is your best career decision? This is two-fold. My decision to pursue my M.B.A. while I was still in my mid-20s definitely provided me with a lot of professional leverage. Second, returning to the Syracuse market allowed me to achieve a level of success that may have taken much longer in Atlanta, the city that I relocated from.
