EFC International of St. Louis has appointed Carol Gallagher to a newly created products manager position. Gallagher, who has been with the company for more than twenty years, will oversee product management of components, including those related to electrical/electronics, furniture hardware, screws, rivets, and custom threaded products. . . . Also at EFC International, Erinne Lowery has been promoted to purchasing supervisor and supplier quality manager and Courtney Lucas has become quality and compliance specialist. Lowery will head EFC's procurement/purchasing, supplier performance, and development functions. Lucas will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining EFC's quality standards, documentation, certification, and other quality system requirements. EFC International distributes specialty metal and plastic components, fasteners, and clamps.

The American Society of Safety Engineers has presented its annual Edgar Monsanto Queeny Safety Professional of the Year award to James D. Smith. Director of Risk Control Services with Arthur J. Gallagher Co. in Boca Raton, Fia., where he provides safety, loss control, and risk management consulting services. Smith received the award for his accomplishments and contributions to the occupational safety, health, and environmental fields. . . . Also at the ASSE, Strategic Safety Solutions LLC senior partner Kennith D. Brock was elected to serve as trustee and chairman of the ASSE Foundation Board. The Foundation, chartered in 1990, provides financial resources to individuals and organizations in the safety and health professions.

Roselle, 111.-based RBI Bearing, Inc., has announced that Michael J. Mortensen has been named director of engineering. With 24 years of both engineering and management experience, Mortensen will coordinate all technical communication with the company's manufacturing facilities in China. RBl Bearing manufactures radial ball bearings, chain, and sprockets in Chengdu and Wuxi, China. Sales and distribution centers are located in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Toronto.

Volland Electric Equipment Corp., located in Buffalo, has announced several recent personnel changes. Chris Graham, previously vice president, has been promoted to president. Ron Graham, president since 1988, is now chairman and CEO. With 25 years of experience in industrial sales, Keith Waldron has been appointed sales manager. David Mislin and Dave Waldron, formerly of Dynamic Control Solutions, have become operations manager and sales engineer respectively. Finally, Rich Di Christina is panel shop manager, Steve Fayett sales engineer for the Rochester, N.Y., territory, and Barbara Sullivan inside sales representative.

Darby Electric has added two salespeople to its staff. clay Burdette, with experience at GE Supply, previously worked with motor services. Jess Fasold, who recently completed Reliance key parts distributor training, has management experience in the forest products industry.

Stahlin Non-Metallic Enclosures recently announced the appointment of Bryan Green to technical sales manager. Green comes to Stahlin from Franklin Fueling Systems, in Bluffton, Ind., where he was a sales product specialist. Stahlin Non-Metallic Enclosures, based in Belding, Mich., manufactures fiberglass enclosure products.

Selco/ECC, manufacturer of thermal control products, has begun implementing the ISO 9001 2000 quality management system and has named Edgar Rodriguez quality assurance manager. Rodriguez has 16 years of quality experience and is a registered management systems auditor through the Registrar Accreditation Board. Selco/ECC is preparing to obtain AS9100 Certification, a modification of the ISO 9001 standard adapted for suppliers to the aerospace industry.

With 10 years of experience in embedded controls and networking, Cyrilla Menon has become general manager of CAN in Automation North America (CiA). Having a background with CAN and other vehicle networks, Menon has worked in training and consulting for industry personnel as well as marketing CAN and other network products. The CiA's North American office, in Novi, Mich., provides technical support and product and technology intelligence. It also organizes CiA seminars, technical conferences, exhibitions, and workshops in North America.

Joe Spedale has been named national distributor sales manager at Omron Electronics, where he will be responsible for industrial automation distributor activities in the U.S. and Latin America. Spedale comes to Omron after an 11-year career at SMC Corp. of America, where he held positions that included national distribution manager, branch manager, and sales representative.

Leesburg, Va.-based Eurotherm, manufacturer of industrial instrumentation for the process control and data acquisition industries, and a unit of Invensys pic, has appointed Ron DiGiacomo northeastern regional sales manager for the U.S. With about 20 years of experience in process instrumentation, DiGiacomo has worked for Chromalox, Micro Motion, and Foxboro. His territory will include West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, and New England.
