Seeks more info on coil forming

Editor:

I greatly enjoyed reading your recent article on coil forming ("Coil forming: more than simple geometry," November 2006 EA). It was very informative.

Please recommend the name of a book or two on coil forming for large 100 to 2,000 MW generators-also, on coil forming for large (15,000 hp and up) motors.

Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately, we're not aware of any books on the subject of coil forming for any sizes or types of electrical machinery. Manufacturers and service shops have developed their own practices over the years, but we have not seen any general publications on the subject.-Editor

Sharing back issue of EA

Editor:

I appreciated Richard Nailen's article about 24OV "single phase, not two phase" so much that I gave the magazine to a business associate at a different company for him to read. Now, other people at Vanner would like to see the article.
