Recourse for those who are bullied by the boss?
Electrical Apparatus, Jul 2007
Laws prohibiting sexual harassment in the workplace are now on the books across the U.S., and the next step could be laws prohibiting bullying by bosses.
A half-dozen states are considering legislation that would outlaw workplace harassment, classifying it as an "unlawful employment practice" that an employee would have the right to sue over, according to a recent issue of BusinessWeek.
Legislation being considered in Oregon defines bullying as "derogatory remarks, insults, or epithets, physical conduct that a reasonable person would find threatening, intimidating, or humiliating, or the gratuitous sabotage or undermining of an employee's work performance."
