Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedITE call for Trip Generation and Parking Generation data
Institute of Transportation Engineers. ITE Journal, Jun 2001
The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) is currently working to update two of its best-selling Informational Reports--Trip Generation and Parking Generation. ITE intends to publish the 7th edition of Trip Generation by December 2001 and is currently in the process of reviewing alternative formats for the production of an updated parking generation reference. To produce these two resources, ITE relies on the voluntary submittal of data from the transportation community. Therefore, this is a call for trip generation and parking generation data.
Trip Generation Data
The Institute is interested in data far all land uses. However, the following list provides some land uses that are of particular interest at this time: arena/stadium * assisted living/congregate care/elderly care/retirement community * casino * convention center * courthouse * distribution centers * drive-in bank/ATM * garden center * internet server provider * museum * outdoor sport field * self-storage facility * stand-alone specialty retail by specific type (coffee shop, book store, florist, etc.) * theater * university campus * video rental.
The Institute is also collecting data for truck trip generation (not trip generation at truck terminals). Please submit any studies/information directly to ITE Headquarters.
Please submit data on the Trip Generation Data Collection Form that can be found in volume 3 of the 6th edition of Trip Generation and on the ITE Web site at www.ite.org/tripgen/ datasubmission.html.
Parking Generation Data
The Institute is interested in data for all land uses. For data-collection guidelines and options on how to submit data, please visit the ITE Web site at www.ite.org/parkgen/datasubmission.html.
Deadline for Data Collection
Data for both publications is continually collected; however, the deadline for data to be included in the upcoming editions of these resources is Aug. 1, 2001.
Please submit all data to Deanna Almond, Technical Projects Associate, Institute of Transportation Engineers, 1099 14th St., NW, Suite 300 West, Washington, DC 20005-3438 USA.
EDITOR'S NOTE
Trafficware was inadvertently not listed as a Gold Contributor to the Millennium Fund in the February 2001 issue of ITE Journal on page 14. The Institute expresses appreciation to David Husch of Trafficware for being a Gold Contributor and to the many other contributors who helped reach the Millennium Fund goal.
