Noted historian and author Lennart Lundh covers the history of the Sikorsky HH-52A, the Coast Guard's short-range rescue helicopter for almost three decades. Lundh puts together the manufacturing, design details, and records of each airframe's history. Of special interest are the recollections of nearly a score of Coast Guard pilots and aircrews, along with the text of the Army's evaluation of the first production airframe. The various appendixes provide a look not only at the crew art as it appeared on the aircraft, but also the patches for many of the detachments that flew the Sikorsky.
