What is an automobile giant to do?

GM has older, legacy industrial production systems at its plant in Arlington, Tex. Never the less, the plant is one of the more productive and profitable plants the company owns.

Through advances in automated, flexible systems, and modern supply chain management, GM's new neighbor in Texas-Toyota-is preparing to eat GM's lunch.

Did we mention legacy labor agreements? They are a thorn in GM's side if not a nail in its coffin. Compare the costs both companies face.
