Latina/o Pathway to the PhD: Abriendo Caminos, The

Journal of College Student Development, Nov/Dec 2006 by Hernandez, Frank

Unlike the work of Leon, 2003; Swail, Cabrera, Lee and Williams, 2005; and Ybarra and Lopez, 2004, this edited volume gives the reader both sound theoretical pieces and the authentic voices of Latinos students. It would make an excellent addition to the libraries of scholars, practitioners, and higher education institutions interested in Latina/o demographics, educational achievement and personal accounts of the struggles and successes that these students have had, and continue to, experience.
