I Used to Know a Man
Scandinavian Review, Summer 2003 by Forsstrom, Tua
I Used to Know a Man
I used to know a man.
He said he was a doctor and
let his patients happily bleed to death.
He took walks during the nights
god knows where to, it wasn't to any
catastrophe-hit areas. I sat
in a rocking-chair, rocking. He played
the violin in a Schrammelquartet and found pleasure in it.
Whatever he did, he enjoyed it.
He said no one would want me.
I said no one would want him,
except me. I said I would sell everything, it won't
cost anything. That man. His patients
actually got so sick that they died.
