A History of Russian Music: From Kamarinskaya to Babi Yar

Canadian Slavonic Papers, Sep-Dec 2003 by Woodside, Mary

A final word must go to the translation by Arnold J. Pomerans and Erica Pomerans. Possibly because this book originated with English texts, its translation from the Dutch reads idiomatically, with none of the awkwardness one excuses, or tolerates, in a translation. The result, musical examples or not, is a valuable addition to the library of all lovers of Russian music.
