Australian cutting systems maker Griffiths & Beerens Pty. Ltd. (GB) has developed a new guide bar for high-output pro chain saws. The CN40 Titanium Pro-Top bar uses high-end material and a special hardening process for what GB calls incredible durability and service life. GB starts with its titanium alloy harvester bar steel, proven in the demanding world of CTL harvesting and processing. The bar profile, slot and holes are cut on precise, computer controlled laser cutters, and the bars are subjected to GB's CN40 process, for ultra-hard rails but overall flexibility. The bar is too hard to machine, so GB uses precision grinders to form the bar groove. This creates a rounded gullet, for even stronger rails, especially resistant to rail wear or breakage. The CN40 Top-Pro bar also has a self-clearing, directional oil injection hole.
