Marquette gets SBA status

Marquette Bank, N.A., has been approved by the Small Business Administration for certified lender status. The SBA certification gives banks a guaranty for small business loans.
Bank Midwest, Minnesota Iowa, N.A., Fairmont, plans to merge with Bank Midwest, Minnesota Iowa, N.A., Okoboji, Iowa. The Iowa bank will become a branch of the Minnesota bank. The banks are subsidiaries of Goodenow Bancorp., Inc. in Okoboji.
Robert Evans, vice chairman of TCF Financial Corp., will retire Jan. 1. Evans will remain a member of the board of directors. Evans, 61, has held various positions at TCF since he joined the company in 1971.
