Montana bank opens branch in Three Forks

Northwestern Financial Review, Jan 15, 2001

The Manhattan State Bank, Manhattan, Mont., opened its second branch on Oct. 23 with an office in nearby Three Forks, Mont. According to bank president Ken Fenno, the move made sense for the $50 million bank, which already had about 20 percent of the Three Forks customer base.

"We're off to a running start in a way because we did have a customer base there, rather than trying from scratch," Fenno said.

Russ Sorensen, an eight-year veteran of Manhattan State Bank, was named Three Forks branch manager. The office is about 3,500 square feet.

Manhattan and Three Forks are similar in size with each having fewer than 1,500 people. The communities are only 12 miles apart.
