Know your House banking subcommittee chairs

Northwestern Financial Review, Mar 1, 2001

Rep. Michael Oxley (R-Ohio), chairman of the new House Financial Services Committee, announced his committee's subcommittee chairs. They are: Richard Baker (R-La.) -- Capital Markets, Insurance and GSEs; Peter King (R-N.Y) - Domestic Monetary Policy, Technology and Economic Growth; Spencer Bachus (R-Ala.) - Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit; Marge Roukema (R-N.J.) - Housing and Community Opportunity; Doug Bereuter (R-Neb.) - International Monetary Policy and Trade; and Sue Kelly (R-N.Y.) - Oversight and Investigations.

Meanwhile, Sen. Phil Gramm (R-Texas), chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, outlined his top priorities. He said they are bankruptcy reform, securities fee reduction, oversight of government sponsored enterprises, and reauthorization of the Export Administration Act.
