Bank One names new corporate controller

Melissa Moore joined Bank One Corp., Chicago, Sept. 1 as corporate controller. Moore succeeded William J. Roberts who has been corporate controller since 1987. Moore reports to Bank One's CFO Charles Scharf.
"We got to know Melissa earlier this year during our search for an independent public accounting firm and we were impressed by her broad understanding of our business," Scharf said. "Her experience and knowledge of large financial services companies will bring great value to our managewent team."
Moore comes to the $270 billion holding company from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she worked for 17 years, most recently as a financial services audit and business advisory partner. She has worked at Continental Bank and Shawmut National Bank, and was a client relationship and engagement partner on the Bank of America account.
"This is an exciting time to join Bank One," Moore said. "As I met the executive management team, I became more convinced that they have the capability, determination and energy to make Bank One a high performing company. I look forward to being part of Bank One's success."
Moore has a bachelor's degree from Western New England College in Springfield, Mass., and a masters of business administration degree from Harvard Business School. Moore and her family will relocate to Chicago from Charlotte, N.C.
