United Bankers' Bank names new Chief Financial Officer

Karen Knafla was named vice president and chief financial officer of United Bankers' Bank (UBB), Bloomington, Minn. Knafla brings more than 25 years of experience in bank finance and accounting to her new position.
Knafla worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis from 1974 to 1986. Her primary responsibility was to conduct examinations of bank holding companies. She then served as chief financial officer, vice president and treasurer of Anchor Bancorp, Inc., headquartered in Wayzata, Minn. During her 11-year tenure with the company, the Anchor network grew from two to five banks. In 1997, Knafla became senior vice president of the First National Bank of Chaska, Minn.
"Karen Knafla's extensive background in community banking and bank regulation will strengthen UBB's management team in the years ahead," said William Rosacker, president of UBB. "Her expertise in establishing fiscal policies and procedures that can accommodate organizational expansion will help us and our customers as we prepare for continued growth in our bank and in th`e community banking industry as a whole."
Prior to joining UBB, Knafla was a controller for United Way Administrative Services where she helped process stock gifts and develop standardized accounting policies and procedures for gifting to the Minneapolis and St. Paul offices of the United Way.
