Column evokes responses
Northwestern Financial Review, May 1-May 14, 2002
The March 1 On The Beat column about our bank was very nice and gave all of us at Community National a 'Warm Fuzzy.' I guarantee you that we will forward this on to Frandsen Financial Corp. Just so you know, we did paint the area where you hit the drive-up so the evidence has been covered - so don't worry. Thank you for your fond memories of our bank and we hope that we may make as positive impression on our new customers and existing customers on a daily basis as we have with you.

Community National Bank
Grand Forks, N.D.
Your On The Beat column included several memorable moments of growing up in Grand Forks and dealing with Community National: Buying a $25.00 Savings Bond, taking a coffee can full of pennies to the bank to be counted, and even leaving a bit of your first car's paint on the drive through. These are the kinds of stories which can be told about many of the community banks in America, including our bank in Luck, Wisconsin.
I am writing in response to your plea to Mr. Frandsen to take good care of the bank and to give you the assurance that it will remain a community bank. Mr. Frandsen grew up in Luck, Wis., and later established an injection molding business in Rush City, Minn., both of which are small communities. He purchased our bank in Luck in 1982 and has since purchased several other community banks in Minnesota including East Grand Forks. I was one of the owners of our bank when Mr. Frandsen purchased it. I agreed to stay and manage the bank for him after the purchase. I am still here 20 years later. I can assure you that we still issue $25 savings bonds (as well as other new investments for college savings). We still accept coffee cans full of pennies from the communities' children (as well as offer tours of the bank for the local elementary school). We still clean a car's paint from our drive-through. I can also assure you that I would not have stayed at Rural American BankLuck if Mr. Frandsen had not taken good care of the bank and continued our community involvement.
Grand Forks is special in many ways as are each of our nation's communities such as Luck, Wis., Ada, Braham, Foley, Hector, Fairfax, Jordan, New Ulm, Waterville, East Grand Forks, Warren, Oslo, Montgomery, Lonsdale and North Mankato, Minn. Each of these communities has a community bank owned by Frandsen Financial Corp. Each of these community banks is still locally managed and each of them is still very much involved with the communities they serve. As a member bank of Frandsen Financial Corporation, we welcome Community National Bank to Frandsen Financial Corporation.
