Northwestern Financial Review, Jul 15-Jul 31, 2002
Kirk Gross Company of Waterloo, Iowa, has sold its sign division to Nagle Signs, Inc. Kirk Gross Co., bought the sign business, known as Kowalsky Signs, in December 1998.
"This sale establishes a strategic alliance between our two firms," commented Robert Buckley, president and CEO of Kirk Gross Company, an architectural design, construction and furnishing company specializing in financial institutions. "Kirk Gross will continue to sell and design signs, while Nagle Signs will be responsible for the manufacturing, installation, and service of the signs contracted through Kirk Gross."
During the last four years, Kowalsky Signs produced signage using the latest computerized technology to complement Kirk Gross's architectural projects for both the financial and commercial sector. Kowalsky Signs was founded in 1951.
"The growth of our sign division had exceeded our expectations in recent years," Buckley said. "It was evident that, in order to continue the momentum, we needed to form an alliance with Nagle to expand the products and services both companies offer."
Nagle Signs has produced signs since 1978 from its Waterloo and Marshalltown, Iowa production facilities.
"The synergy between our two firms ensures that this new alliance will bring continued growth and greater opportunities," said John Nagle, president and coowner of Nagle Signs, Inc.
Kirk Gross Company was founded in 1937.
